We are not a secret society but a private club. You must be invited and sponsored by a current member in good standing to join the Loyal Order of Moose. All events in the Lodge are for members and qualified guests.

Come to the Moose at 7:30 pm on Jan. 20th to discover Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Learn how to get involved at the Moose. Take a Lodge tour. Get useful tips for hanging out in the social quarters. Chili Cookoff – Sun., Feb. 1st
Test your chili-making skills on Feb. 1st, when the Rod & Gun Club hosts it’s annual Chili Cookoff. To enter, bring a crock pot filled with your secret recipe. Not a cook? No worries. Samplers are welcome for a small fee.
Concealed Carry Classes – Feb. 21-22
The Moose Rod & Gun Club will host concealed carry classes on Feb. 21-22. Watch for registration information to be posted soon.
Beginning August 1 2025, spouses and adult children of Moose members will be required to have their own memberships. As with all guests, spouses and adult children will be allowed to visit two times as a guest, but the third time they will be required to join. Please note: This is a new rule being implemented by Moose International. All Lodges, including Downers Grove 1535, are required to abide by this rule.

Moose Appetizers – Get them now
The Lodge’s expanded food menu is a big hit. The menu features cheese curds, chicken strips, chicken wings, onion rings and French fries. The famous Moose pizzas are also still available.
Moose ID Cards
All members are required to present their cards for service. Only active members can make purchases at the bar. No exceptions. Please be polite to our bartenders when they ask to see your membership card.
Lodge meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. They are at 7:30pm in the kids/meeting room. If the door is closed at 7:30, feel free to knock. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Inside the Lodge, members can try their luck on our video gaming machines. If gambling isn’t your thing, no worries. Shuffleboard, pool, darts, and foosball is available and is free of charge. Golden Tee Golf also available.


Moose Cruise Night’s



The Loyal Order of Moose is a fraternal and service organization. It was founded in 1888 by James J Davis. Now, the organization is led by Scott D Hart. With almost one million members in roughly 1,600 Lodges in 49 states and four Canadian provinces, plus Great Britain. The Loyal Order of Moose, along with other units of Moose International, supports the operation of Mooseheart Child City & School. This is a 1,000-acre community for children and teens in need, located 40 miles west of Chicago. It also supports Moosehaven, a 70-acre retirement community for its members near Jacksonville, FL. Additionally, members of the Moose conduct approximately $70 million worth of community service (counting monetary donations and volunteer hours worked) annually.
